My first trip to the Himalayas introduced me to the pleasures of exposure, snow, altitude sickness, landslides, terrorist threats and political unrest. Sometimes I wonder how I ever made it back a second time, but the sheer beauty and timelessness of the mountains and a love of photography brought me back. Modernisation is causing major changes to Nepal and I feel an urgency to record areas before they are irreparably altered. In 2014 I intend to do a photographic trek to the Mustang region where roads connecting down from China threaten its timeless nature.
I'm now doing bird photography, which is somewhat challenging as I prefer prowling the bush rather than using a hide.
